正面描述 Hammered silver flan bearing the Islamic Kalima in two lines of bold Nasta'liq Arabic script across the central field, reading 'There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.' The inscription is divided by a horizontal line, with the text filling the entire coin face in the characteristic Mughal hammered style. The legends are incuse-struck with irregular flan edges typical of hand-struck Mughal coinage. No figural imagery is present, in accordance with Islamic artistic convention.

附加信息

Aurangzeb's rupees from Junagadh reflect an administrative reality often overlooked: the Mughal grip on the Kathiawar peninsula was never total. Junagadh remained under the Babi nawabs as nominal Mughal tributaries, and coinage struck there operated at the edges of imperial control. The mint functioned intermittently, which accounts for the relative scarcity of Junagadh-attributed pieces compared to major imperial mints like Surat or Ahmedabad operating in the same period.

KM#300.43 covers a long production window, and regnal year attribution on individual specimens is essential for narrowing provenance — dates struck late in Aurangzeb's reign, after 1700, come from a mint operating under increasingly strained Mughal authority in the Deccan wars' shadow.
