توضیحات پشت اسکناس Central vignette comprises an intaglio rendering of the Tugu Peringatan Negara (National Monument) in Kuala Lumpur, with bronze figures raising the Malaysian flag atop a stone plinth, flanked by trees and the memorial arcade below. A circular guilloche rosette bearing a deer motif occupies the upper left, while floral vignettes — including hibiscus blooms in pink and blue — are placed at lower right. The denomination numeral "1" appears at lower left, with "$1" in a guilloche cartouche at upper right, and the printer's imprint at bottom left.

یادداشت‌ها

The P#27 series replaced an earlier 1 Ringgit design and ran through 1989, by which point Bank Negara had already committed to replacing the small-denomination paper notes with coins — the 1 Ringgit coin was introduced in 1967 but had never fully displaced the banknote in everyday use. That ambiguity kept this series in production longer than originally planned.

Thomas De La Rue printed the full run in London, as they had for most Malaysian currency since independence. The watermark is the sole security feature — modest even by the standards of the period, though counterfeiting of the 1 Ringgit denomination was never a serious documented problem in Malaysia during these years.
