| Description de l’avers | The national arms of the Sultanate of Oman occupy the central field, depicting the traditional khanjar dagger superimposed over two crossed swords, all rendered in fine relief. Flanking the arms at lower left and lower right are two six-pointed stars. The denomination 'ONE RIAL' appears in Latin script to the left of the arms, with the Arabic equivalent 'ريال واحد' to the right. Issued to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations, this coin was part of a coordinated global series in which dozens of member states released commemorative silver pieces simultaneously in 1995. Oman's participation reflected Sultan Qaboos's consistent diplomatic posture — the sultanate joined the UN in 1971, the same year Qaboos consolidated power following the palace coup against his father Said bin Taimur.
