Obverse description Central field features the national emblem of Oman — two crossed khanjar daggers overlaid with a curved janbiya and belt, surmounted by a royal crown — all rendered in high relief within a raised inner circle. A circular Arabic legend surrounds the emblem, with the name of Sultan Qaboos bin Said arcing across the upper field and the inscription 'Sultan of Oman' across the lower field. The Hijri date range ١٣٩٠–١٤٠٠ (1390–1400 AH), commemorating the tenth anniversary of Sultan Qaboos's accession, appears within the inner circle beneath the emblem.

Reverse description The reverse presents a bold, open-field design dominated by the large Eastern Arabic numeral ١ (one) at centre, with the denomination legend 'ريال عُمان' (Oman Rial) inscribed above in flowing Arabic script. The Hijri year ١٤٠٠ appears beneath the numeral, and the legend 'سلطنة عُمان' (Sultanate of Oman) is inscribed in the lower field. Flanking the central numeral to the left and right are two smaller renditions of the national crossed-khanjar emblem, adding symmetrical heraldic decoration to the composition.
