The quartered arms incorporate multiple dynastic and ecclesiastical devices rendered in fine relief. A circular beaded inner border frames the composition, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery. The overall design is characteristic of late sixteenth-century German Reichsthaler heraldic die-work, with strong, bold relief typical of hammered coinage of the period. |
