Obverse description Facing head of an augur rendered in low relief within a plain raised border, wearing the characteristic pointed apex or ritual cap of the augural priesthood. The facial features, though worn, display an archaic stylistic treatment typical of Etruscan aes grave production. Three pellets, denoting the quadrans denomination, appear in the lower field. The broad, irregular flan is characteristic of the heavy cast bronze coinage of central Italy in this period.
