正面描述 The field displays the Arabic denomination 'جنيه واحد' (One Pound) in large naskh script at centre, flanked on either side by the dual dates 1398 (Hijri) and 1978 (Gregorian) in Arabic-Indic and Western numerals respectively. The circular legend 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt) runs along the upper periphery in naskh script. An ornate arabesqe decorative cartouche occupies the lower portion of the field. 背面描述 The central design features the official emblem of Ain Shams University: a stylised obelisk topped by a radiant sun disc, flanked symmetrically by two facing falcon figures with spread wings, all set upon a rectangular base bearing the university name 'جامعة عين شمس' in Arabic script. Radiating beams of light emanate from the sun disc behind the obelisk. The legend 'العيد الفضي' (Silver Jubilee) is divided between the upper left and upper right fields in kufic-style script. The foundation and jubilee years '١٩٥٢-١٩٧٧' appear in the lower field, and the design is framed by a toothed inner rim.

附加信息

Ain Shams University was established in 1950 as Ibrahim Pasha University — one of three major state universities founded in quick succession as Egypt expanded public higher education following the postwar period. It was renamed after the ancient district of Heliopolis in 1954. The 1978 issue marks its twenty-fifth year, commissioned by the Central Bank during a period when Egypt was actively using commemorative coinage as a policy instrument following the 1971 monetary reforms.

The .720 silver fineness places this squarely in Egypt's standard commemorative alloy of the late 1970s, identical to several issues of the same period.
