| Obverse description | An intaglio-engraved oval vignette at left contains a left-facing portrait of King George VI set within an elaborate scrollwork cartouche surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by foliate sprays, all printed in dark blue on a green guilloche underprint with ornamental corner rosettes. The heading THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FALKLAND ISLANDS appears in large letterpress above a central denomination panel reading ONE POUND with the £1 symbol, accompanied by the legal tender clause These Notes are Legal Tender for the payment of any amount.
