Obverse description	An intaglio-engraved oval vignette at left contains a left-facing portrait of King George VI set within an elaborate scrollwork cartouche surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by foliate sprays, all printed in dark blue on a green guilloche underprint with ornamental corner rosettes. The heading THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FALKLAND ISLANDS appears in large letterpress above a central denomination panel reading ONE POUND with the £1 symbol, accompanied by the legal tender clause These Notes are Legal Tender for the payment of any amount. A manuscript signature of the Commissioner of Currency appears at centre-bottom, with the date and the legend FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FALKLAND ISLANDS at lower right, and the serial number printed twice in dark blue at upper right and lower left.

Reverse description	The entire reverse is occupied by a single large central vignette of intricate De La Rue engine-turned guilloche work, printed in steel blue on a cream ground, comprising an oval medallion of interlaced lathe-work rosettes at centre surrounded by concentric bands of floral and acanthus scrollwork, with elaborate acanthus-leaf volutes extending horizontally to each side, the whole design unlettered and serving purely as an anti-counterfeiting ornamental motif.
