| Opmerkingen |
The Republic of Ireland's central bank began printing its own notes in Dublin from 1974 onward, ending a long dependence on external printers — this series was among the earlier products of that in-house capability. The four signature combinations running from 1977 to 1989 reflect successive Governor and Secretary pairings, and the transitions between them are often the only reliable way to narrow a date range on undated examples within the series.
The 1977 Murray/O'Murchu pairing has the shortest known date window — roughly five months — making those issues noticeably scarcer than the later O'Cofaigh/Doyle combination, which ran nearly five years.
