| Obverse description | Vignette of Queen Medb, legendary sovereign of Connacht, at right, rendered in a stylised illustrative manner. The centre bears a pre-Christian geometric underprint derived from archaeological bone slip artefacts, while the background carries an excerpt from the Táin Bó Cúailnge, Ireland's foremost mythological epic, in Old Irish script.
