| Mô tả mặt sau | The reverse presents an intaglio vignette combining two ancient monuments of Cyprus: at left, the multi-arched Roman aqueduct near Larnaca, and at right, a row of standing marble columns from the ruins of Salamis. The arms of Cyprus appear centrally within a decorative cartouche, and the design is framed by a fine guilloche border across the top and sides. The denomination ONE POUND is inscribed at lower left. |

Bradbury Wilkinson printed the entire P#43 run, a long series spanning over a decade through several signature changes. The 1972 reissue under Peperas and the subsequent 1976 transition to Hadjigeorghiou reflect routine administrative turnover at the Central Bank rather than any monetary crisis — Cyprus was still operating under the sterling-linked pound before the 1972 shift to an independent peg and well before the Turkish invasion of 1974 fractured the island's economy.
Notes dated after July 1974 circulated in a fundamentally different political reality, with the northern third of the island under Turkish military control and the Central Bank operating solely from Nicosia's southern sector.
