| Description de l’avers | The left portion of the obverse carries an intaglio-printed oval vignette of Lady Hazel Lavery, draped in a shawl, serving as the allegorical personification of Ireland, set against a fine guilloche underprint in green and yellow tones. The bilingual issuer title — "Currency Commission Ireland" and "Coimisiún Airgid Reatha Éire" — appears in a dark banner across the top, with denomination numerals in the four corners and a large sterling pound symbol in guilloche work at the lower centre. Two manuscript signatures appear to the right of the portrait, identified respectively as Chairman of the Currency Commission and Secretary of the Department of Finance, with the date and serial number printed in red. |

| Description du revers | The reverse is printed entirely in dark green and presents a central rectangular intaglio vignette of the spirit of the River Lee — rendered as a bearded male river god with flowing hair and a mitre-like crown, executed in fine line engraving. The central vignette is surrounded by elaborate guilloche lacework forming two large symmetrical cartouches to the left and right, framed by a Celtic knotwork border running along the inner perimeter of the note. The overall composition is unlettered, relying entirely on the engraved ornamental design for its visual authority. |
