| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays the circular Latin legend ORDO HOSP HIERVSALE, an abbreviated reference to the Ordo Hospitalis Hierosolymitani — the Order of the Hospital of Jerusalem — distributed around the field. The central area of the reverse is largely plain, with the legend serving as the primary design element. The flan shows pronounced irregularities and surface porosity consistent with hammered copper coinage of the sixteenth century. Strike quality is typical of the smallest denominations issued by the Order, where die detail is often weak and legends partially legible. The piece displays a natural dark copper patina with areas of green cuprite corrosion. |
