| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bold long cross with expanded terminals divides the reverse field into four quadrants, each containing a segment of the circular legend in uncial Latin script. The arms of the cross extend nearly to the inner beaded border, giving the design a strong, graphic quality typical of Livonian Order pfennigs of the early fifteenth century. The legend, reading MO-NE-TA-XO, is distributed one syllable per quadrant around the cross, referencing the coin as a new monetary issue (Moneta Nova). The irregular flan and variable strike are consistent with hand-hammered production at the Reval mint under Master Zisse von Rutenberg. |
