Obverse description Central device consisting of a heraldic shield bearing a cross, surmounted by a crown, all rendered in the bold, slightly crude style characteristic of hammered medieval billon coinage. The shield with cross occupies the majority of the field and is flanked by additional cross motifs at the sides, creating a densely composed heraldic arrangement. A circular legend in uncial Latin script surrounds the central device, reading REVALIE, referencing the mint city of Reval. The coin's flan is irregular and slightly concave, with a beaded inner border partially visible around the circumference.
