Reverse description Central denomination inscription EIN PFENING arranged in two lines, with the date 1749 below and the Vienna mint mark W at the base, all enclosed within an elaborate baroque cartouche of symmetrical foliate and scrollwork ornament. The cartouche is surmounted by a decorative shell or leaf motif at the apex and flanked by boldly rendered acanthus-style volutes. The entire design is set within a plain field, surrounded by the same fine radial denticle border as the obverse. The overall composition is characteristic of the restrained yet decorative Viennese baroque engraving style of the mid-18th century.
