The islands and landmasses encountered during the voyage are labelled with both their indigenous and Spanish colonial names, including San Salvador/Gvanahani, Sta. Maria Concepcion/Rvm Cay, Jvana/Cvba, Fernandina/Long Island, Isabela/Crooked, Babeqve/Gran Inagva, Tortvga, and La Española. Two period sailing ships are engraved in the field, evoking the Santa María and her consorts, while a compass rose is prominently rendered in the lower left quadrant.
