| 备注 |
When Japanese forces severed the Philippine Islands from the Commonwealth government's peso supply in late 1941, provincial authorities across the archipelago improvised their own emergency currencies. Negros Occidental was among the first and most organized of these efforts — the Currency Committee was convened quickly, and Filma Press, a local commercial printer with no prior experience in currency production, was pressed into service. The result was a genuinely provincial note, designed and printed entirely within the island.
The guerrilla peso series from Negros is relatively well documented compared to other Philippine emergency issues, but genuine circulated examples remain scarce. Many notes from this series were deliberately destroyed before Japanese capture to prevent confiscation or counterfeiting.
