Opmerkingen

Peal de Becerro is a small municipality in the province of Jaén, Andalusia, and like hundreds of Spanish towns it resorted to locally issued emergency scrip during the coin shortage of 1936–1937. The Republican government's wartime peseta fractional coinage simply never reached many rural communities in sufficient quantity, leaving local commerce — the "Comercio" designation here indicating a merchants' association rather than a single shop — to fill the gap with improvised paper.

The Gari Mon reference is unassigned, which usually means documentation is incomplete rather than that the piece is unverified. Thick card stock was the practical choice for small-denomination scrip meant to survive repeated handling across a few village counters.
