| Opis rewersu | A bold long cross with a central pellet at the intersection divides the reverse field into four quadrants, closely following the Pointed Helmet type of Cnut's English coinage. Small decorative devices, including trefoils or pellet ornaments, are placed within each quadrant. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the cross, reading +AS DRI: DMO. NOR, identifying the moneyer Asthrith and attributing the issue to Norway. The execution is notably provincial, with irregular letter forms and an uneven flan typical of Norse imitative penning production of the early eleventh century. |
