Magnus the Good ruled Denmark only after wresting it from Sweyn Estridsen in 1042, having already held Norway since 1035. His Danish coinage was struck across multiple mints simultaneously — a deliberate administrative move to assert rapid territorial control rather than a considered monetary policy. The reign was short enough that die production was never rationalized, leaving considerable variety across surviving specimens.
Hauberg 16 is among the better-documented types from this reign, though attribution of individual pieces to specific mints remains contested without provenance.
