| 正面描述 | Frontal face of the sun god Surya depicted in folk style within a rayed oval nimbus, the facial features rendered in a schematic manner with almond-shaped eyes, a triangular nose, and a small mouth, all without a dot on the forehead. Radiating rays extend outward from the oval frame in all directions, filling the field to the coin's rim. The design is executed in a bold, vernacular artistic tradition characteristic of the Pratabgarh princely state coinage. |

Pratabgarh was among the smaller Rajput princely states in what is now Rajasthan, and its autonomous coinage rights — exercised sporadically through the 19th century — were effectively curtailed by British paramountcy well before the 1886 date on this piece. The persistence of local copper issues this late was largely a matter of prestige and internal trade convenience rather than any practical monetary independence from colonial infrastructure.
