Reverse description A stylized high-relief depiction of an Aztec eagle warrior (Guerrero Aguila) in right profile, rendered in a bold pre-Columbian artistic style, set within a D-shaped inner circle. The warrior's distinctive eagle helmet with open beak is prominently rendered, framing the face in three-quarter view. The inscription GUERRERO AGUILA appears below the central motif within the inner circle, with the denomination N$1 in the lower field outside the circle. The mint mark Mo appears to the left and the date 1993 to the right within the inner circle. The outer border features a continuous ring of decorative Aztec-inspired pellet and foliate ornaments.

Additional information

The Guerrero Aguila series was part of Mexico's broader push in the early 1990s to establish fractional silver bullion coinage alongside the better-known Libertad issues. The design draws on pre-Columbian iconography specific to the Guerrero region, distinguishing it from the nationalist Libertad program and giving the series a distinctly archaeological character.

KM#644 had a limited production run and was not widely distributed through international bullion channels, keeping it largely outside the awareness of collectors outside Mexico.
