备注

Golzern was a prisoner-of-war labor camp in Saxony, situated near the Mulde river, and by 1916 was holding Allied prisoners put to work in wartime agricultural and industrial tasks. Camp scrip of this kind was mandated under German military administration to prevent prisoners from accumulating Reichsmark currency that could fund escape attempts — the 1 Mark denomination here sat at the practical ceiling for day-to-day canteen transactions within the wire.

Johannes Pässler of Dresden printed for numerous Saxon camp authorities during the war years, producing relatively consistent typographic work across a range of Lagergelds. Golzern issues are modestly scarce; the camp's small prisoner population kept total print runs low.
