The Kreutzer issues of 1791–1792 were produced during Leopold's brief, frantically diplomatic reign — he died in March 1792, just two years into his rule, before the French Revolutionary Wars he had been trying to prevent finally engulfed the region.
Further Austria itself was ceded to France under the Treaty of Lunéville in 1801, ending Habsburg administration of these western enclaves entirely.
