Beschrijving voorzijde Central shield bearing the quartered arms of the Habsburg dominions, surmounted by an imperial crown with elaborate mantling and scrollwork supporters. The crowned escutcheon is rendered in fine relief with hatching and dotted bordures distinguishing the quarters. A circular legend in Latin encircles the design, reading the full royal titles of Leopold II, separated by pellets. The coin exhibits a milled border and a well-defined inner circle framing the armorial composition.

Aanvullende informatie

Further Austria was a patchwork of Habsburg territories in southwestern Germany and northwestern Switzerland, administratively distinct from the main Austrian lands. Leopold II inherited these holdings alongside the imperial crown in 1790, following the death of Joseph II, whose aggressive centralization policies had triggered open revolt across the Habsburg domains. The Kreutzer issues of 1791–1792 were produced during Leopold's brief, frantically diplomatic reign — he died in March 1792, just two years into his rule, before the French Revolutionary Wars he had been trying to prevent finally engulfed the region.

Further Austria itself was ceded to France under the Treaty of Lunéville in 1801, ending Habsburg administration of these western enclaves entirely.
