| Descrição do anverso | Central field features an ornate crowned Gothic monogram of Mary of Burgundy, formed by interlaced letters within a cusped quatrefoil frame rendered in relief. The monogram is surmounted by a elaborate crown with fleur-de-lis finials, all executed in the late Gothic hammered style characteristic of Burgundian Low Countries coinage. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding circumferential legend. The peripheral legend in uncial Latin lettering reads MARIA DVCISSA BG BRAB Z LI, identifying the issuer as Marie, Duchess of Burgundy, Brabant and Limburg, punctuated by double diamond stops. The overall flan is irregular in shape, typical of hand-hammered billon coinage of the period. |

The circumferential legend in uncial Latin, punctuated by double diamond stops, reads BENEDIC AIA MEA DNO followed by the mint year, a Psalm-derived invocation meaning 'Bless the Lord, O my soul.' The entire reverse is struck on an irregular billon flan with characteristic weakness at the edges due to the hammering process. |
