| 表面の説明 | Central field features an ornate crowned Gothic monogram of Mary of Burgundy, formed by interlaced letters within a cusped quatrefoil frame rendered in relief. The monogram is surmounted by a elaborate crown with fleur-de-lis finials, all executed in the late Gothic hammered style characteristic of Burgundian Low Countries coinage. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding circumferential legend. The peripheral legend in uncial Latin lettering reads MARIA DVCISSA BG BRAB Z LI, identifying the issuer as Marie, Duchess of Burgundy, Brabant and Limburg, punctuated by double diamond stops. The overall flan is irregular in shape, typical of hand-hammered billon coinage of the period. |

Mary of Burgundy's reign over the Burgundian Netherlands was defined almost entirely by crisis management. Following the death of Charles the Bold at Nancy in 1477, she was forced to issue the Groot Privilege — surrendering substantial ducal authority to the provincial estates in exchange for their military and financial support against Louis XI of France. The coinage of 1480–1481 falls squarely within this period of constrained sovereignty, minted under conditions of ongoing war and political concession.
She died in March 1482 from injuries sustained in a riding accident, making this among the final issues struck in her name.
