Each lobe contains one of the three electoral coats of arms in fine heraldic detail. A beaded inner border separates the central device from the outer circumferential legend, which reads in Gothic uncial script, identifying the coin as a new gold coinage. The reverse follows the standard Rhenish electoral gulden format introduced in the early fourteenth century. |
