Obverse description Central field displays the quartered heraldic shield of the Archbishopric of Trier, combining the electoral cross of Trier with the bend of the von Sierck family arms, set within an ornate Gothic trefoil or cusped frame. The shield is surrounded by a beaded inner circle, with the archbishop's name rendered in Gothic uncial lettering forming the outer circumferential legend. The overall design follows the Rhenish Goldgulden typology standard for the mid-fifteenth century, with bold, deeply struck relief typical of hammered coinage of the period.
