The design is rendered in bold relief characteristic of mid-15th century German hammered goldgulden production. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding circumferential legend. The circular legend in Gothic uncial characters reads + ALBERTVS ROMAnORV REX, identifying Albert II as King of the Romans, punctuated by pellets.
