The circular legend, struck in Roman capitals, reads ·PAVLVS·III· ·PONT·MAX·, identifying Pope Paul III as Supreme Pontiff. The coin was produced by the hammered technique, resulting in a slightly irregular flan with a rope-like border visible at the rim. |
