| Obverse description | Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King Albert I of Belgium occupies the central field, modelled in high relief with finely rendered facial features. The legend ALBERT ROI DES BELGES curves along the upper periphery, flanked by a beaded border. The engraver's signature JUL. LAGAE appears in small characters at the lower rim beneath the truncation. The portrait is rendered in a restrained, classical academic style characteristic of Jules Lagae's medallic work. |

| Reverse description | A tall, centrally placed oil palm tree dominates the field, its fronds spreading broadly toward the upper periphery and its trunk flanked by the large denomination numerals '1' and 'F' in bold relief. The date appears in two parts — '19' to the left and '27' to the right — at the base of the trunk. The legend CONGO BELGE is divided across the lower portion of the field, arching along the bottom within a beaded border. The overall design conveys the colonial tropical identity of Belgian Congo in a bold, graphic style. |
