The obverse preserves a portion of the facing royal portrait, with visible lines suggesting the schematic crown and facial features rendered in the crude, formulaic style of 13th-century Irish coinage. Pellets and angular die-cut lines occupy the field, consistent with the Class 2a type. The irregular, fan-shaped planchet retains partial traces of the encircling royal legend, with letterforms from the inscription hENRICVS REX III fragmentarily visible along the curved edge. |

| Description du revers | The reverse of this cut farthing presents a wedge-shaped fragment of the standard short-cross penny reverse design, showing portions of the voided long cross that originally divided the full coin into four quadrants, each bearing two or three pellets in the characteristic Plantagenet style. The moneyer's inscription, partially preserved along the curved border, reads RICARD ON DIVE, identifying the issuing moneyer as Richard of Dublin. Pellets are visible within the triangular field sections defined by the cross arms, and the border retains traces of the encircling beaded rim typical of hammered Irish issues of this period. The die work is bold but uneven, reflecting the hand-struck production methods of the Dublin Mint under Henry III. |
