| Descrição do reverso |
The reverse displays the second common European map design, depicting the European continent as a whole without internal national borders, rendered in relief against a cross-hatched background. The globe-like projection extends into the surrounding seas, emphasising the unity of the European Union. The denomination '1 EURO' is inscribed to the left of the map, with the engraver's initials 'LL' (Luc Luycx) below. The twelve stars of the European Union encircle the entire composition within the bimetallic ring. |
