The face value '1 ΕΥΡΩ' is inscribed in Greek characters to the left of the central motif, accompanied by the engraver's initials 'ΓΣ' and the year of issue. The design is encircled by the twelve stars of the European Union forming the outer ring. |

The denomination '1 EURO' is inscribed to the left of the map, with the engraver's initials 'LL' (Luc Luycx) below. The twelve stars of the European Union encircle the entire composition within the bimetallic ring. |
