The surrounding legend, divided by the date 1748 in the lower exergue area, reads FRANCISCVS D G ROM IMP SEMP AVGVST, citing the full imperial titulature of Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor. The design follows the established conventions of Habsburg imperial coinage of the period. |
