Obverse description The obverse features the national coat of arms of Liberia centrally placed within a beaded inner circle, depicting a three-masted sailing ship approaching a shoreline with a palm tree and a rising sun, surmounted by a scroll and a dove in flight, all within a decorative shield. The date 2025 is divided on either side of the central device. Surrounding the inner beaded border, the legend THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE arcs along the upper portion, while REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appears along the lower portion. The outer field, rendered in a frosted finish contrasting with the polished inner circle, displays an engraved background of overlapping national flags — including the Stars and Stripes and the Canadian Maple Leaf flag — evoking the Allied nations of the Second World War. The lower arc of the coin bears the inscriptions .999 FINE COPPER · 5 TROY OUNCES and ONE DOLLAR in bold raised lettering.

Reverse description The reverse depicts a high-relief sculptural rendering of the iconic flag-raising at Iwo Jima, showing a group of soldiers straining in unison to erect a pole bearing the American flag, set upon rocky terrain in the lower central field. The word LIBERTY is inscribed in large spaced capital letters along the upper right arc of the coin. To the left of the central device, a small five-pointed star appears above the commemorative dates 1945 and 2025, separated by a horizontal rule, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Concentric arc lines frame the composition in the left field. Along the lower border, in small incuse lettering, runs the quotation NEVER WAS SO MUCH OWED BY SO MANY TO SO FEW, attributed to Winston Churchill.
