The denomination 1 DOLLAR appears in the lower field, separated from the portrait by two raised dots on either side. The engraver's initials JC are present at the lower left of the truncation. |

At the centre, two aircraft are depicted in dynamic diagonal composition — a vintage biplane and a modern jet — evoking the airline's evolution over 100 years. A stylised arc rendered in red, white, and dark blue encircles the central motif, echoing the livery colours of Australian Airlines. The iconic Qantas flying kangaroo roundel appears in the lower right field within a circular emblem. The upper legend reads AUSTRALIAN AIRLINES MERGER, while THE AUSTRALIAN AIRLINE and the date range 1920 – 2020 are inscribed across the aircraft fuselage.
