| Opis rewersu | The reverse presents three horizontal lines of Arabic Kufic inscription filling the central field, arranged in a straightforward epigraphic layout without ornamental border or inner circle. The legends, struck in bold relief, reference the name of the Hammudid ruler Yahya ibn Ali in whose name the coin was issued, following Fatimid-influenced formulaic conventions. The irregular flan shows evidence of clipping and surface porosity, typical of hammered silver dirhams from the western Maghrib. A faint marginal inscription may have been present but is largely off-flan or worn away. The overall die execution reflects the regional mint practice of Fès during the mid-11th century CE. |
