| Obverse description | An archaic four-spoked wheel occupies the central field, its spokes forming a cruciform framework supported by crossbars, creating a divided circular composition. The Etruscan inscription ΘE and ZI appears in the quadrants separated by the wheel's spokes, reading as 'Thezi', the ethnic or magistrate's legend of Vulci. The overall design is rendered in a bold, archaic Etruscan style characteristic of early Italian coinage. The coin is struck on an irregular flan with a beaded border visible at the periphery. |
