| Obverse description | Crudely hammered copper flan of irregular polygonal form displaying the Kalima in two lines of Arabic script across the field, reading 'La ilaha illallah / Muhammadun rasulullah' (There is no god but God / Muhammad is the messenger of God). The legend is rendered in a bold, somewhat rough naskh hand characteristic of Mughal copper coinage. The field is unadorned, with no border ornament, and the surface shows the typical high relief and uneven strike associated with hand-hammered dam coinage of the Akbar period. |

| Reverse description | Reverse bears three lines of Arabic legend in naskh script occupying the full field, reading 'Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar / Zarb Ajmer / (Hijri date)'. The imperial name and title of Emperor Akbar appear prominently in the upper two lines, with the mint name Ajmer (Zarb Ajmer) below, and the Hijri regnal year in the third line. The flan is thick, irregular and polygonal in outline, consistent with the hand-hammered production technique employed at the Ajmer mint during the late Akbari period. Surface wear and patination are evident throughout, with green cuprite deposits in the recesses. |
