| 正面描述 | Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as modelled by Arnold Machin. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the hair and drapery. The legend ISLE OF MAN arcs along the left periphery and ELIZABETH II along the right, both in raised Latin capitals. The Pobjoy Mint mark (PM) appears in small letters below the truncation, with the date 1982 inscribed along the lower rim. |

The Isle of Man government was notably aggressive in the commemorative coin market during the early 1980s, issuing gold proofs tied to anniversaries, films, and historical subjects with a frequency that drew collectors and speculators in equal measure. The Bounty subject arrived on the back of sustained public interest in the mutiny — Nordhoff and Hall's trilogy had never gone out of print, and a major Hollywood production was already in development, eventually released as "The Bounty" in 1984.
HMS Bounty departed Spithead in December 1787 under William Bligh, bound for Tahiti. The mutiny occurred in April 1789, less than a month after leaving the island.
