Bounty, a fully-rigged three-masted sailing vessel, rendered in fine detail with elaborate rigging and hull ornament, positioned to the left of centre; the ship's name H.M.S. BOUNTY is inscribed beneath the vessel in the exergue area. To the right, an oval cameo portrait presents a bust of Fletcher Christian in period naval attire and brimmed hat. Seabirds are shown in flight above the scene. The design is framed by a rope-and-chain border, with the legend MANX MARITIME HERITAGE arcing across the upper field and ONE CROWN along the lower, flanked by decorative scroll motifs at each side. |
