| Opis awersu |
Right-facing diademed and draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Arnold Machin, occupying the central field within a beaded border. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, while BAHAMA ISLANDS curves along the right, both in raised Latin capital letters. The Queen wears a jewelled tiara and a lightly draped shoulder, rendered in high relief with fine detailing characteristic of the Machin portrait used on Commonwealth coinage from the late 1960s onward. |

| Opis rewersu |
A finely detailed, centrally positioned starfish (sea star) dominates the reverse field, its five tapering arms rendered with intricate surface texture suggesting the natural tubercular patterning of the species. The denomination ONE CENT arcs in raised lettering across the upper field, flanked on either side by the starfish arms, while the date 1970 appears in the lower exergual area. Two small raised dots flank the starfish centrally on either side of the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
