Descrizione del dritto	The obverse features a seated allegorical figure of the French Republic (Marianne), radiate-crowned and draped in classical robes, facing left. She holds a fasces or sceptre upright in her raised right hand, while her left hand rests upon an anchor symbolising maritime commerce and colonial reach; a sheaf of wheat stands to her left. The central device is enclosed within a raised beaded inner circle, with the legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE arcing along the upper periphery between two beaded borders. The mint mark A and engraver's initials A.B appear in the lower field of the inner circle, with the date 1888 prominently displayed in the lower exergual area outside the inner circle.

Descrizione del rovescio	The reverse displays the denomination numeral 1 to the left and the abbreviation C to the right of a central vertical rectangular cartouche containing four Chinese characters reading 百分之一 (one hundredth), all set within a beaded inner border. The circular legend INDO-CHINE FRANCAISE arcs along the upper periphery, while the weight specification POIDS 10 GR. is inscribed along the lower border, all contained between two concentric beaded rings that follow the coin's edge.
