| Obverse description | Cast brass cash coin centred on a square central perforation, with four large Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged symmetrically around the hole in the traditional reading order: 康 (Kāng) above, 熙 (Xī) to the right, 通 (Tōng) below, and 寶 (Bǎo) to the left, together reading 康熙通寶 (Kāngxī Tōngbǎo). The characters are bold and in relief against a flat, undecorated field, enclosed by an outer raised rim and an inner square rim surrounding the perforation. The style is consistent with standard Qing dynasty imperial cash coinage, cast rather than struck, with no additional decorative elements. |

| Reverse description | The reverse features two mint-identifying characters flanking the central square perforation, one on each side, within the customary flat field bounded by raised inner and outer rims. To the left of the hole appears a Manchu script character (ᠨᡳᠩ, read vertically), and to the right a single Chinese ideogram 寧 (Níng), both denoting the Jiangning (Nanjing) Mint. The remainder of the field is plain and unadorned, consistent with standard Qing cash coinage convention. |
