Obverse description Irregular hammered silver flan bearing a bold Persian inscription in nasta'liq script arranged across the field in two registers. The legend reads 'Bande-ye Shah-e Velayat Abbas' (Servant of the King of Sanctity, Abbas), accompanied by the Hijri date 1019. The calligraphy is fluid and characteristic of early Safavid coin engraving, with letters merging naturally into one another across the slightly convex flan surface.
