In the lower exergue, the inscriptions GRAM. 1, the date 1879, and the fineness LEI 835 are arranged horizontally, denoting the coin's weight, year of issue, and silver standard respectively. The design is executed in a refined neoclassical engraving style, with a beaded border encircling the entire composition.
